Kratt, George

George Kratt – (1975)

 

Played football, basketball and ran
track for Lorain High School in 1909-
13. Attended Penn State University in
1913-14, but was compelled to with-
draw when his brother passed away
to manage the family’s business.

Penn State’s coach called George
Kratt “Definite All-American material”
as a sophomore. Former Lorain High
Coach George Daniel often referred
to George as the most outstanding
player he ever coached.

In 1914, Penn State tied a strong
Harvard team, 13-13, and coach Hollenbuck credited George Kratt with
making this feat possible.
