BARTOS

Top three-year football and trackman at Lorain High, 1941-43. The
All-Ohio fullback paced Steelmen to last unbeaten season (1943). Was
also quarterback when situation prevailed, plus did all the team’s punting
and placekicking. Outstanding student and gridder at Naval Academy
(1944-48), where he was a two-way back. Later played first-team with
pro Washington Redskins. Pro career ended prematurely, when — as
a Marine officer — was recalled into Korean conflict. Is currently top
executive with Avco Corporation.
